The Center seeks a Communications Specialist to join the team in our Concord, NH office. The Specialist will support a wide range of strategic communications priorities, designed to raise overall awareness of the Center and engage donors, partners, other stakeholders and social media followers. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, excellent attention to detail, ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines, a positive, can-do attitude, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic office environment. Communications Specialist Reports to: Communications Director
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities Job-Type: Part-time

  • Responsibilities
    As a key member of our team the Communications Specialist will:
  • Manage social media channels for the Center and its programs: develop strategy; write, create and post content; monitor and reply to posts; follow important organizations; share and boost posts; maintain best practices.
  • Maintain website, post updated content, integrate photos and videos, cross-market with internal and external links, maximize SEO.
  • Create and distribute bulk emails (Mail Chimp); manage interface of Salesforce and Mail Chimp; manage audience segmentation.
  • Repurpose approved content for additional uses.
  • Manage and produce digital media for the Center, including curating our photo/digital library, editing videos, creating basic graphics, and sharing products with partners. Assess and improve the effectiveness of the Center’s digital communications using Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and other tools.
  • Assist in public relations and promotions where needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the latest social media strategies and tools.
  • Experience using multi-channel communications to drive organizational awareness, as well as
    audience acquisition and engagement.
  • Experience using content management systems for websites; solid understanding of search
    engine optimization; experience with Google AdWords preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, and ability to align targeted content with unique audience needs and
    objectives.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.
  • Experience with email marketing systems (MailChimp preferred).
  • Experience with video production and editing preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Self-motivation with a sense of personal responsibly for job performance.
  • Excellent attention to organization, detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Two-year college degree or professional certification in related field or equivalent
    experience/training.
  • Ability to travel on rare occasions with other staff to attend in- and out-of-state meetings, which
    can include overnight stays.

Compensation and Benefits

The Communications Specialist is an hourly part-time position (25-30 hours/week) with an hourly range
of $19-$23; starting wage will be commensurate with experience. The Center provides a benefits
package including employee supplemented health insurance and paid holiday and vacation hours.
