Communications/Outreach Communications Manager

The successful candidate will have at least a four-year college degree in an applicable discipline, strong interest in conservation education and natural history, excellent oral communications skills, and public speaking experience.
This is a full-time position based at the Conservation Center in Concord, NH and other outreach settings in New Hampshire. The Communications Manager is primarily responsible for writing material and coordinating production of our quarterly magazine, Forest Notes, and creating and maintaining our on-line content. The Communications Manager works with the VP Communications/Outreach to administer and oversees communications functions, including strategic message development. The position may require evening and weekend work.
The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests is a statewide land conservation organization that was founded in 1901 to protect New Hampshire’s most important landscapes and promote wise use of its renewable natural resources. The Forest Society owns and manages 173 reservations in more than 100 communities across the state and has interests and monitoring responsibilities for more than 700 conservation easements. With 10,000 member households and more than 40 employees conducting ongoing programs in outreach, advocacy, land protection and sustainable forest management, the Forest Society consistently ranks among the nation’s top land trusts and has been a leader in setting the standard for American land protection.
