Events & Marketing Manager – Red River Theatres

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial person with a passion for events and community engagement to join our small but mighty team at Red River Theatres. The Events & Marketing Manager will be a creative problem solver, who works collaboratively across program areas to craft messaging; recruit audiences and supporters; and coordinate and execute events. The manager needs to be detail oriented, a curious self-starter, an adaptive thinker, a skilled writer and marketer, and true team player, who shares our excitement for amplifying our mission and building connections throughout the community.

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Events & Marketing Manager will strategically shape and drive the process of building events from conception to execution and beyond, as well as the theater’s marketing, overall. The manager will be an imaginative and enterprising organizer and promoter, who values RRT as a community resource, bringing new ideas to showcase Red River’s unique programming, community offerings, and fundraising initiatives by partnering with colleagues, local organizations, and businesses.The position is relationship-based and requires working across multiple platforms and spaces for effective in-person and digital space collaboration. The Events & Marketing Manager will work with public media stations, local organizations, and businesses to enhance our community programming, extend the reach of our films and interactive content, and further our impact.

This is a full-time salaried position -$35,500/year, with medical and dental benefits.

Responsibilities
Conceptualize and execute events, and coordinate rental process, collaborating with team to create diverse year-round program calendar.

Collaborate with colleagues and partners to build compelling, multiplatform initiatives and deliver an integrated approach across brand experiences and events.

Develop, administer, and oversee print and digital communications to a variety of target audiences, including donors, sponsors, volunteers, community partners, leads, and media.

Copywrite content for printed materials, as well as website and digital copy, with colleagues in program areas.

Create and manage graphics and design projects for print and digital needs, ensuring consistency of messaging and branding, partnering with external designer as needed.

Research leading voices and community leaders across sectors; increase collaboration with community-based organizations, and sustain existing partnerships with local
groups, organizations, community leaders, and businesses.

Support community outreach, donor and membership development, operations, and other efforts in support of overall RRT mission, as needed; generate fundraising, and create a strategy to attract and maintain corporate and event sponsorship and in-kind donations.

Be an active presence at the theater, liaise with patrons and clients to address inquiries or concerns, and serve as an active brand ambassador in person and digitally.

Requirements
At least 3 years of managerial experience.

Experience supervising staff; experience working with nonprofit arts organizations or entertainment industry is a plus.

Curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for bringing films and interactive programs to a broad public in accessible ways by collaborating with different individuals, groups, and community partners.

Meticulous attention to details and superior organizational skills.

Exceptional copywriting and overall written and verbal communication skills.

Strong digital knowledge and stronger digital curiosity; eagerness to identify and employ new digital and social media marketing and promotion tools that align with and expand our target audience.

Ability to manage complex and fast-changing program elements and prioritize effectively in response, adeptly coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Comfort with ambiguity.

Strong self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities and anticipate needs.

Creative and strategic thinking with emphasis on customer service to meet client objectives for an event and address any concerns.

Ability to forge strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and community partners.

Flexible, open, and constructive attitude; proactively contributes to the goals of the organization with enthusiasm.

Entrepreneurial spirit, track record of initiative, and ownership of work.

Experience with the following programs and technologies, or willingness to learn: Microsoft Office; WordPress; social media and Hootsuite; Constant Contact; Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop); Canva or similar graphic design programs; presentation technology and digital projection.

Must have flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to oversee events and other theater-related activities, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises staff and volunteers for all events and rentals. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Required to lift up to 50 lbs – concession stock, office supplies, and other inventory.

May be exposed to cleaning fluids, solvents, inks, and other such materials.

Must be able to change gears quickly and work in areas outside of essential duties and responsibilities of the job, as needed.
