Marketing Manager – Capitol Center for the Arts

The Capitol Center for the Arts, New Hampshire’s largest nonprofit performing arts center, seeks a seasoned arts marketing professional to manage its various communications initiatives, including, but not limited to, public and community relations, website maintenance, e-marketing, social networking, materials design and production, direct mail services, market research and data-base management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage annual marketing plan that aligns with Capitol Center’s strategic and operating plan.
  • For each show or series, design and implement strategic promotional campaign to include, when warranted, print media, radio, TV, direct mail, posters, web advertising, and/or other strategies to achieve attendance and sales goals.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of all Capitol Center publications, including season brochures, playbills, annual reports and other publications that may be required.
  • Manage the Capitol Center’s web site and e-newsletter campaign.
  • In conjunction with other departments, manage and enhance the Center’s social network channels.
  • Write and distribute press releases, calendar listings, and PSAs, and work with media outlets to obtain maximum exposure.
  • Design compelling displays for the lobby and trade-show booths.
  • Manage direct-mail campaigns, working with the box office and mailing-list consultants to maximize target audience for each campaign.
  • Provide marketing support to Capitol Center’s education, development and facilities-rental departments.

Requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years of marketing experience, preferably in a performing-arts environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing, with, preferably, expertise in Adobe InDesign applications.
  • Familiarity with web and database applications. (Experience in Drupal content management a plus.)
  • Awareness of current trends in social-network marketing strategies.
  • Media awareness.

Marketing Manager reports directly to the Director of Programming and Audience Development. Salary in the mid-thirties.
