Katie Paine talks Social Media Measurement

Katie Delahaye Paine, CEO of KDPaine & Partners and author of “Measuring Public Relationships: The Data-Driven Communicator’s Guide To Measuring Success” and “Measure What Matters,” addressed the members guests of the Yankee Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America at the chapter’s annual meeting and professional development session on June 23. In her seminar, titled GET YOUR ROI: MEASURE WHAT MATTERS, Paine discussed the power of social media, how do define goals and objectives, for social media programs and how to measure to determine success.

April is Accreditation Month

April is Accreditation month at PRSA, a time to learn how Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) can take your career to the next level. APR is a voluntary certification program for PR professionals. APRs demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice by advancing the Readiness Review process and passing the computer-based APR Examination.

Yankee Chapter Scholarship Honors Founder

Eligible Students Encouraged to Apply by April 21, 2011

Named in honor of the Yankee Chapter’s “founding father” James (Jim) H. Bradley who passed away in 2010, the 2011 James H. Bradley Memorial Scholarship will be presented in June at the Yankee Chapter’s annual meeting to a student with a declared major in a public relations-related field who is studying at an accredited college or university in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont.

The $500 scholarship will recognize the student’s academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to public relations.

Congratulations New APRs

Congratulations to Suzanne Spruce, APR, community relations director for Eastern Maine Healthcare, and Nancy Kerr, Ph.D., APR, program director for Media Communication at Champlain College, for achieving PRSA accreditation.

Auger Recieves 2010 Jackson Award

Phil Auger, of the New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, was presented with the Patrick Jackson Award at this year’s Yankee Chapter PRSA annual meeting on Thursday, June 10. Auger was recognized for his many decades of services in Rockingham County to private landowners and communities in the management of their forest lands, including his current work as Extension Educator In Land And Water Conservation.

The Patrick  Jackson Award recognizes a professional who is not in the public relations field but nonetheless successfully uses public relations principles to benefit his or her organization and society.  It is named for the late Patrtick Jackson, founder of the behavioral management & public relations consulting firm Jackson Jackson & Wagner, and former National president of PRSA.
