Auger Recieves 2010 Jackson Award

Phil Auger, of the New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, was presented with the Patrick Jackson Award at this year’s Yankee Chapter PRSA annual meeting on Thursday, June 10. Auger was recognized for his many decades of services in Rockingham County to private landowners and communities in the management of their forest lands, including his current work as Extension Educator In Land And Water Conservation.

The Patrick  Jackson Award recognizes a professional who is not in the public relations field but nonetheless successfully uses public relations principles to benefit his or her organization and society.  It is named for the late Patrtick Jackson, founder of the behavioral management & public relations consulting firm Jackson Jackson & Wagner, and former National president of PRSA.

Kelliher Samets Volk Wins Summit Award

Kelliher Samet Volk wins Yankee Chapter Summit AwardAt its annul meeting on June 10, the Yankee Chapter of PRSA introduce a new award, the Summit Award, in recognition of excellence in the use of social media as the primary tool utilized in a public relations campaign.  The inaugural presentation of the award went to Kelliher Samets Volk, of Burlington, Vermont. The firm utilized an array of social media tools, including Twitter and Facebook, to effectively support the business goals of Stowe Mountain Resort, including increasing the level of social media interaction between the resort and its fans. Summit Award judges this year included Katie Delahaye Paine of KDPaine & Partners, Berlin, NH; and, Rich Brooks of flyte new media, Portland, ME.

Kelliher Samets Volk to Receive Summit Award

The chapter is pleased to announce that Kelliher Samets Volk of Burlington, VT, has earned the inaugural PRSA Yankee Chapter “Summit Award,” in recognition of outstanding public relations work. This year, the Summit Award focused specifically on excellence in the use of social media, and the Kelliher Samets Volk entry was judged outstanding.  The firm implemented a comprehensive strategy to successfully use a variety of social media channels to benefit their client, the Stowe Mountain Resort.
“We were very impressed with the execution of the campaign,” noted awards committee chair Martin Murray of PSNH. “KSV used the right tools, and used them more effectively than many other agencies, in the opinion of the judges.”
