At its annul meeting on June 10, the Yankee Chapter of PRSA introduce a new award, the Summit Award, in recognition of excellence in the use of social media as the primary tool utilized in a public relations campaign.  The inaugural presentation of the award went to Kelliher Samets Volk, of Burlington, Vermont. The firm utilized an array of social media tools, including Twitter and Facebook, to effectively support the business goals of Stowe Mountain Resort, including increasing the level of social media interaction between the resort and its fans. Summit Award judges this year included Katie Delahaye Paine of KDPaine & Partners, Berlin, NH; and, Rich Brooks of flyte new media, Portland, ME.

The chapter is pleased to announce that Kelliher Samets Volk of Burlington, VT, has earned the inaugural PRSA Yankee Chapter “Summit Award,” in recognition of outstanding public relations work. This year, the Summit Award focused specifically on excellence in the use of social media, and the Kelliher Samets Volk entry was judged outstanding.  The firm implemented a comprehensive strategy to successfully use a variety of social media channels to benefit their client, the Stowe Mountain Resort.
